Wuhan Hospital Purchases 300 iClean Mini’s

In the last week we received news that the chief medical officer of Wuhan hospital placed an order for 300 iClean mini’s and 20 Lotus Pro (SAO) dispensers to assist in the sanitisation of their hospital amidst the outbreak.

Known as the primary location for the outbreak (which has now spread to a global pandemic), Wuhan became the first city to face the virus. Due to this, authorities have been forced to adapt quickly, finding new and effective ways of slowing down the spread of the virus. Wuhan hospital, which was built earlier this year, a hospital used to treat those infected in recent weeks, has now turned to SAO as a means of keeping the hospital clean and sanitised along with its hospital grade disinfectant. Aware of the powerful effects SAO has in killing harmful viruses, Wuhan’s chief medical officer has put his trust in Tersano’s cleaning products to assist.


Why Wuhan hospital has turned to chemical-free cleaning solutions

Hospitals by nature require the highest level of cleaning and sanitisation, however, this demand becomes even higher during a pandemic. Using cleaning chemicals at the frequency that is required to keep the virus at bay can create its own issues, with known side effects of toxic cleaning chemicals including respiratory issues as well as skin and eye irritation. This can present enormous problems, particularly when the Sars-CoV-2 virus is known to affect the respiratory system and is particularly dangerous to those with underlying health conditions. It is already known that using certain strong chemicals around sufferers could potentially worsen their symptoms, whereas SAO offers a chemical-free solution, able to effectively tackle germs and bacteria without the side effects of cleaning chemicals. SAO has been proven to be 100% safe for people, with no links to respiratory issues, making it the much safer choice for healthcare facilities battling the outbreak. 


What is an iClean Mini?

The iClean mini is a handheld device, which creates Aqueous Ozone on demand at the push of a button. Inside is a rare diamond electrode mechanism which passes an electrical current through the oxygen in the air, converting Oxygen (O2) into Ozone (O3). This is then infused into water inside the product, creating instant Aqueous Ozone – a safe but powerful cleaner and sanitiser for on demand cleaning. Able to kill 99.999% of harmful germs, bacteria and many viruses, it is the perfect solution for sanitisation, without the need for harmful chemicals. SAO vs Harmful viruses

Due to biosafety requirements and regulations, it has been extremely difficult to safely handle the actual SARS-CoV-2 strain virus for testing.

Instead, we decided to test the SAO solution against Canine Parvovirus – a virus in the small non-enveloped category, this category being the most resistant to sanitising and disinfectants. Lab results from the experiment confirmed that within the recommended 5 minutes testing time, SAO was able to effectively destroy over 99% of this incredibly tough and resilient virus, which we are incredibly proud of!

Upcoming tests.

Over the next 4-6 weeks, Tersano will be conducting further testing to provide clients with updated information on the impact of SAO. These tests can sometimes take months to complete but rest assured, Tersano is working as hard as possible to provide the results.


Latest virus testing update
