Using Ozonated Water for Cleaning

Aqueous ozonated water has been used for cleaning for over 100 years. In 1906, the first ever water treatment plant used aqueous ozone to effectively treat water without the use of chemicals. Since then, it has been used in a wide range of settings from Olympic swimming pools to the military, foodservice areas and commercial and residential environments.

Aqueous Ozone is created using electricity to split oxygen molecules, turning o2 into o3. This is then infused with normal tap water, creating Aqueous Ozone. Whilst in this state, it can be used to sanitise, clean and kill 99.999% of harmful bacteria, but it quickly reverts back to its original form of oxygen and water. It is only in more recent years that Tersano invented the world’s first ozone cleaning system that could stabilise aqueous ozone for up to 24 hours. This means that ozonated water could be used as an effective cleaner and sanitiser for much longer, making it more practical, highly effective and cost-saving.

Stabilised Aqueous Ozone Cleaning Systems by Tersano

The Lotus® Pro and iClean Mini™ by Tersano has a revolutionary cartridge that changes the minerals in the water, prolonging stabilisation and delaying the process of the ozonated water reverting back. This allows it to remain as a powerful cleaner and sanitiser for longer, giving you a 24-hour window to clean entire buildings using just one batch. This makes it a highly practical and cost-efficient cleaning solution. When stabilised, the aqueous ozone can kill up to 99.999% of all harmful bacteria, which is even more effective than bleach. It is also completely free from toxic chemicals so is 100% safe for people and the planet – approved by leading governing bodies including FDA and Health Canada.

How does the Lotus® Pro create stabilised aqueous ozone?

The Lotus® Pro unit is permanently fitted to the wall and can be used time and time again. Cold drinking water is added to the module compartment in the unit, which changes the mineral composition of the water. This allows the aqueous ozone to stay stabilised for longer. It is then passed through to the main unit of the Lotus® Pro, where an air filter allows oxygen in and 4,500 volts of electricity is injected into the water, converting the o2 into o3. This creates Stabilised Aqueous Ozone. The unit dispenses then Stabilised Aqueous Ozone into buckets, spray bottles or floor scrubbers, providing you with a powerful cleaning solution for up to 24 hours, before simply reverting back to its normal form.

Why people are converting to revolutionary ozone cleaning systems

There are many benefits to using this revolutionary cleaning method over traditional cleaning chemicals. It uses entirely natural elements, so is safer for people and the environment and it is much more cost-effective too. Here are some of the key benefits:

Environmentally friendly

The Lotus® Pro uses no toxic chemicals at all. This means that at the end of every clean, you are not pouring away litres of toxic chemicals that would ordinarily end up in rivers, streams and other natural water supplies. Instead, you simply throw away normal tap water. The Lotus® Pro is also an entirely reusable product, significantly reducing your plastic waste in comparison to traditional chemical cleaning products.

Safe

Chemical cleaning products have been linked with a wide range of health issues from skin allergies to respiratory issues. The Lotus® Pro is entirely safe for staff and for clients as it only uses the natural ingredients, oxygen and water. It also prevents you from having to store toxic chemicals onsite in environments with people in your care, such as in schools or care homes.

Highly effective

The Lotus® Pro is a powerful and effective cleaner and sanitiser, killing up to 99.999% of harmful bacteria. It eliminates germs, odours, stains, mould and mildew and quickly kills viruses including E. coli, Salmonella and MRSA.

Cost-efficient

As a reusable product, the Lotus® Pro only requires a replacement cartridge costing around £300, so it is extremely cost-effective. This brings all your costs into one periodic payment, rather than regular purchases of multiple chemical products. Clients generally experience cost-savings of between 60% – 80% over the space of a year compared to what they would spend on standard cleaning chemicals.

Practical

Fitted to the wall, the Lotus® Pro takes up very little space and eliminates the need to store multiple cleaning chemicals onsite. Cleaning staff will also no longer be required to have COSHH training or mix multiple batches of chemical solutions, as the Lotus® Pro will produce your chemical-free cleaning solution for you, quickly and on demand.
